The winner of the Tracy Hunter Memorial Award this year is Ashley Seeley. Second to none, Ashley has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to Pauline Johnson Collegiate’s environmental program. As a student in the e3 program she displayed an infectious curiosity when learning about nature’s intrinsic interactions. Ashley extended this passion for learning about the environment by participating in many stewardship activities in our school and community. She has been a member of the PJ Eco-club and a student leader representative at the Ontario Nature Youth Summit, for the past 2 years. In the community she has helped out with tree planting, Earth Hour and growing local vegetables for the food bank. And all this has been accomplished while maintaining academic honours standing. Even more important is that Ashley influences others with a positive attitude, a compassionate demeanor and a great big smile. Next year Ashley plans to enter the environmental studies program at Trent University.
